ABC Questions

Monday, June 20, 2016

24 questions about me, with random irrelevant photos included! If you do this please link it below and I will check it out! :)

A- Age: 24! 24 was a jump for me and I'm not sure why... but I feel like I'm ready to be a grown up and do grown up things. As long as I can still get kid meals and hang out at the park all day ;)

B- Biggest fear: Obviously people I love dying, cancer in general is a big one, whales and bears...

C- Current time: 9:19pm. I just went to the grocery store and bought snacks

D- Drink you last had: Water. Always water.
E- Every day starts with: High-pitched voices on the other side of the wall (my room and the bathroom share a wall) and too many alarm clocks going off.

F- Favorite song: I don't know if it's my favourite but currently listening to One Dance, Needed Me, and Too Good a lot a lot. I like Drake and Riri.

G- Ghosts, are they real?: Nope.
H- Hometown: Carleton Place, ON. Town of about 10,000 outside of Ottawa.
I- In love with: My boyfriend, friends, family, etc etc. Life is pretty good right now.
J- Jealous of: People with boobs, which I do not have.  People with AC, which I do not have. People who can eat whatever they want, which I cannot due to my tummy hates everything lately. People who have natural glowing tans, which I will never have.

K- Killed someone?: Never ever.
L- Last time you cried?: This weekend because I had a frustrating day and was being dramatic and needed a hug and a nap. I got both and life was good again.
M- Middle name: Mary.
N- Number of siblings: A younger sister by 2 years, and a younger brother by 5 years. They are both great and I love being 1/3. When I'm a mom I definitely hope it's to 3 kiddos :)
O- One wish: That nobody ever got sick beyond a common cold. And that the world had free wifi. That was 2.

P- Person you last called: Landlords for potential apartments.
Q- Question you're always asked: How are you feeling. I've been sick for what feels like 5 years now and can't really figure out the cause so I've been on a really restricted diet. Yuck.
R- Reason to smile: Reason not to smile would be easier. Life is so great right now and I have very few complaints! Summer is here and I have some really fun weekends coming up, and the end of summer means moving in with my boy which we are both super excited for!
S- Song last sang: I was listening to an old school party hits song on Google Play while we had lunch so probably something off of that.
T- Time you woke up: 6:30, and hit snooze until 7.

U- Underwear color: Ummmm greeny bluey.
V- Vacation destination: I have wanted to go to Fiji since it was on a Bachelor (or maybe Bachelorette) episode. It looked so lush and beautiful. And then after watching Eat Pray Love, I added Bali to that list. But in reality I wouldn't say no to much because I haven't been too many places.
W- Worst habit: Eating too many treats. Getting myself worked up over silly things.

X- X-Ray's you've had: Teeth for sure. I've never broken anything so I don't think I've had anything else.
Y- Your favorite food: Burgers. A&W Burgers specifically.
Z- Zodiac sign: Gemini!

I turned 24

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

I turned 24 on Sunday! When midnight hit I was in a tent looking up at the stars and it was perfect :) Devon and I decided to go camping for a night awhile ago and booked it awhile ago. We went to Long Point Provincial Park, which I had never been to and it was great! We had a really good site that was next to the beach, and luckily the weather cooperated and we actually got into the water! (rare for me)

Our campsite!
Last day being 23
I put on timer and do weird things
Beautiful day!
Turned into rain real quick....
:)
We walked up a hill.
And I got a heart attack.
Selfie mirror in the forest yas.
Celebrated with half a beer.
Nicest beach.
x2
Getting piggybacked.
And then we had a little photoshoot.
Not ready.
Tat show.
Walks on the beach.
Birthday breakfast #healthy
Birthday lunch that came up afterwards.
Dinner :)
Dessert :)
Along with the trip to Niagara Falls last weekend, and the camping trip this weekend, Devon got me tickets to go see Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa in July and drew me this :) Because he is so well-rounded and most talented :)

My Someone

Tuesday, November 24, 2015

What I Want In A Someone
Someone who holds my hand when we're walking.
Someone who is a dog person.
Someone who enjoys getting out and seeing what's happening wherever we live.
Someone who reads (at least once and awhile.)
Someone who wants to know how my day went.
Someone who sends surprise texts. (aka cute surprise texts)
Someone who loves babies.
Someone who likes to be out in nature and will go on hikes with me.
Someone who is athletic.
Someone who knows how to laugh at themselves.
Someone who is always there for me.

If I Had All The Moneys

Friday, November 13, 2015

I'm the kind of person who is always day dreaming about what could have been or should have been. A lot of 'what ifs' around here. The grass is greener on the other side. I like to spend time thinking about how great my life is going to be when I'm a grown up (haha) and how I will have everything I ever wanted. (HAHA)

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to take the daydreaming to blog world and pretend life is perfect and think of all the things I would do if I had a money tree. Because in reality I am the most realistic person ever and sometimes its fun to be unrealistic ;)

If I Had All The Moneys I Would…

Get out of Debt

I would pay off my own student loans, I'd pay off my parents debt and my sisters. I would pay for my brother to go to school when he does. No loans for anybody!! I graduated 6 months ago which means the grace period has officially ended and I start paying back my loan this month. It was a sad day when I got that letter in the mail. Having negative money sucks.

Fix my Skin

I've always had bad skin and it's always bugged the shi out of me. Because it's sensitive I scar really easily. So I would do whatever I need to do to get rid of all the imperfections. And let's add weekly spray tans while we're on this topic because #foreverpale.

Buy a car

I'm 23 and I've never owned a car. Because I've never needed to. And I won't get one until I do need it. I'm completely fine with public transit if that's an option and it always has been. BUT if I had mulah I would for sure go get a little sumthin nice. I would either get a white BMW suv or a white Jeep. I'm into white. With black accents, black leather, black rims.

Fake Boobs

Yes, this is on the list. I wrote a whole post about it actually, and you can find that here.

Invest in Real Estate

Because this is smart and because you have to be smart with your money and use your money to make more money. Ya feel me? Except no student housing because yuck.

Take the Whole Family on a Trip

I'm not exactly a traveller. I'm more of a homebody and I would rather spend money at home than going on a trip. With that being said, I have all the money in the world so hey. I'm getting the whole extended family together and we are heading off to Fiji and renting all those houses on the water in the picture above and spending a week together.

Save it!

Does this tell you how boring of a person I am? Those are all the "fun" things I could think of off the top of my head haha. I can honestly say that apart from a nice shopping spree at the mall, I would put the majority of my money in the bank to growwww. Carrie Bradshaw likes her money where she can see it, in her closet? I like my money where it's making me money. Holla.

20 Qs

Saturday, September 12, 2015

Found at Ellie Love! You know I can't pass up talking about myself :) If you also choose to fill it out, please leave your link below, I'd love to read!

1. FAVORITE FOOD?
I love everything, but what comes to mind first is Chicken Parmasean with bow tie pasta from Jack Astors. So expensive for the size, but sooo worth it!

2. FLIP FLOPS or HIGH HEELS?
A million percent flip flops. I will wear them until it literally snows. They are comfy and I hate real shoes.

3.  FAVORITE PLACES TO SHOP...FOR ME!
Half of my wardrobe is VS Pink, due to the fact that I was in college for 4 years (and in sweatpants for 90% of those years) and they are comfy and cute. H&M… Garage….

4. STANDARD COFFEE ORDER?
I'm not a coffee person! I've actually never had a cup. Caffeine pills got me through school. I do like hot chocolate though so that would be the alternative if I'm at a coffee shop. White hot chocolate especially!

5. ROAD TRIP MUST HAVE SNACK?
This is funny because I went on A LOT of long car rides growing up but we didn't really bring car snacks, just went through a drive thru for lunch.. Favorite in regards to that? Mcds or A&W obvs. Gotta keep it real. Gotta have my burgers.

6. DIY or HIRE IT OUT?
HIRE. BUY. DO WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DI. DSPEND THE MONEY. That's my opinion.

7. TOP 5 TV SHOWS?
Real World. Teen Mom. Sex and the City. Nip/Tuck. Criminal Minds.

I love TV (my attention span is too short for movies) and could list so many more, but these were the first that came to my head. I love anything MTV, TLC, and of course I have devoured Netflix.

8. FAVORITE BOOK?
Another hard one. I read a lot and I don't even recall most of the titles of the books I've read… I love me some 50 Shades of Grey. I have all 4 and have re-read them a fewww times….shh. Maybe when I'm back home and staring at my bookshelf I'll write a whole post on my fave books? :)

9. FAVORITE FORM OF EXERCISE?
Weight lifting. I am very used to being the only girl in the weights section of the gym. I love it.

10. HOW TALL ARE YOU?
5'5" and a half ;)

11. DO YOU TRY SOMETHING NEW AT RESTAURANTS OR STICK TO YOUR FAVORITES?
I'm not very adventurous at all when it comes to food, so I usually stick to the basics, or at least the safe choices. No octopus for me!

12. ONE MAKEUP ITEM YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT?
Foundation. My skin sucks, if I'm wearing one thing, it's foundation to even out this craziness.

13. WHAT'S ON YOUR NIGHTSTAND?
A lamp, candle, clock. book, lip chap, remote for the fam.

14. ONE THING MOTHERHOOD HAS TAUGHT YOU?
Oops. Was this a 20q for moms!? My bad. Luckily I'm a nanny so I can say that 'nannyhood' has taught me how completely exhausting babies can be!

15. MUSIC THAT REMINDS YOU OF HIGH SCHOOL?
Eminem, Biggie, Tupac, anything booty shaking.

16. IF YOU COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD OTHER THAN YOUR CURRENT CITY, WHERE?
Ottawa. Always, forever, one hundo.

17. TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOU WE MIGHT NOT KNOW
i love being outside and don't mind using outhouses. I've never actually got my brows done. I decided when I was 12 I was going to get a boob job one day. I low-key want to be a personal trainer.

18. WEBSITES YOU READ // BROWSE (besides blogs)
Thoughtcatalog, Pinterest, Twitter… the usual.

19. MORNING PERSON or NIGHT OWL?
Night owl. If i didn't care about being part of society I would probably have a night job. I'm always wide awake and have trouble getting to sleep at any decent time.

20. WHAT'S YOUR BEST FEATURE?
Okay I'll roll with it haha. I love my eyes. They're a good color (blue) and they look like marble. Pretty unique and I get complimented on them a lot :)

One of my favourite topics of blog posts are those of the "Get to know me" nature. Hopefully I'm not alone on this one, because I'm about to do one! Seen on Two Thirds Hazel. Because 4 is so much better than 10. Or even 5.

Four Nicknames:

  1. Liv
  2. Liver
  3. Mar (My first name is Mary and I didn't start going by Olivia until I moved away for college, so my family still calls me by it.)
  4. Mary-O (Extended family used to call me this when I was super little, it's written a lot of birthday cards…)

Four Things In My Bag:

  1. Floss. I need to floss more so I bought a million containers and have them everywhere so I never have an excuse not to. Also it's good to have when you have something stuck of course.
  2. My Passport. Because I just got back from Barbados recently and tossed it in there.
  3. Pens. Probably at least 7. Because I don't know.
  4. Giftcards. I have a bad habit of getting them and forgetting about them. Probably have about 15 in there for various places. I should probably go shopping soon…

Four Movies I've Watched More Than Once:

  1. 13 Going on 30. I love everything about this movie.
  2. Clueless. It's a classic and Brittany Murphy is my girl.
  3. Austin Powers. International Man of Mystery, but really any of them. They are amazing and I die laughing every single time.
  4. Human Planet. This is a documentary series that I own and I highly recommend watching. It's on Netflix, and is about how people live in different parts of the world. It's like the human version of 'Planet Earth.'

Four Favorite Drinks:

  1. Chocolate Milk
  2. Water
  3. Apple Juice
  4. White Hot Chocolate

Four Random Things I'm Thinking About:

  1. What I need to pack and bring to Toronto. (everything)
  2. What I'm going to have for dinner. (leftover tacos?)
  3. I wish I had a doughnut. It's been too long since I've been in a Tim Hortons.
  4. Fall. It is so hot here and my hair will not stay straight and I feel faint all the time and I just cannot wait until Fall is here… with that being said, I CAN wait for winter a little bit longer.

Four Top Places I've Traveled:

  1. New York City.
  2. San Diego, California.
  3. Barbados.
  4. Nova Scotia.
Four Places I've Lived:

  1. Ottawa, ON. I was born here!
  2. Carleton Place, ON. Moved to CP when I was almost 5 until I went to school.
  3. London, ON. Spent 4 years in London attending Fanshawe College.
  4. Toronto, ON. (I haven't actually moved here yet but it's soon enough!)
Four TV Shows I'm Currently Watching:

  1. Switched at Birth. This is my Netflix show at the moment!
  2. Bachelor in Paradise. I usually start this and then get bored after a couple weeks. It's okay?
  3. Teen Mom 2. Forever a Teen Mom fan.
  4. Catfish. And just a general MTV fan…

Four Things I'm Excited For This Year:

  1. Living in Toronto.
  2. My hair to grow longer. I'm over the short look.
  3. Meeting new people in the city (See #1) and also getting to know family members better!
  4. Not going back to school in September. It will be weird but also so so nice. The not so nice part will be having to pay back my OSAP….

That's it! If you love talking about yourself as much as I do (What else are blogs for?) feel free to grab this and do it on your own blog! Be sure to leave your link below so I can check it out!

10 Things I Learned in College

Saturday, April 25, 2015

As of yesterday, I am done my fourth and last year of college. To think I'm not going back to school this September, or that I don't have to buy anymore textbooks or write anymore tests, is crazy. And exciting. I'm definitely ready to move on to the next adventure, and excited to start my "grown-up" life. With that being said, I thought I'd write

1. Beer is always a good decision. Any other type of alcoholic beverage, who knows. But my tummy likes beer, so beer it is. Especially dollar beers. My tummy (and wallet) especially like dollar beers.

2. Life is too short for shitty people. Don't waste any time on friends that put you down, or boys that you can tell aren't into you. Spending time with these people is not going to get you anywhere. Learn to recognize when someone isn't 100% in, and say goodbye.

3. Get to know your grandparents. I decided to come to school 8 hours away from home, but my grandparents were here. I never really knew them, and living in the same city gave me a great chance to spend time with them and get to know them as people, rather than the grandparents who I only saw over Christmas and Thanksgiving, when everything was chaotic.

4. I can take care of myself. Moving so far away, I had to learn to take care of myself pretty fast. And I did an alright job, I made it out alive at least. I've gotten good grades, learned how to cook, found a balance between work and fun, and kept my head on straight through all the craziness. Pretty proud of myself :)

5. Appreciating my mom. I can't even count the times I texted or called my mom to ask her a question, both little and big issues. Being so far away from her made me really appreciate her, and I can't wait to move closer to her so we can do more things together.

6. It's okay to switch programs. I started off in Photography, after taking a year off to decide what I wanted to do. After a year, and after a lot of thinking, I decided to go into General Business. I still didn't know exactly what I wanted to do, but I knew Photography wasn't for me, and Business seemed like a safe choice. So i switched into General Business. After the first semester, we all had the option to go a more specialized route. Numbers weren't my thing, so I chose Marketing. I loved it, and graduated in Spring 2014, going back in September for the Advanced Diploma. It seems like people aren't going to accept a switch, but only you know if it's the right choice, so if that's what you think is best- Go for it!

7. Public transit is bomb. With tuition at my school, we got a bus pass. Aka you get to go anywhere around the city for free. Aka you don't have to pay for a cab on the way TO the bar, just home. So many people I know here are snobs and won't take the bus. Ummm okay. You do you. I'll just be over here taking advantage of the free rides.

8. Be friends with your teachers. College is great because you actually get to know your teachers. Classes are small enough that they will know you by name, and most are willing to help you when you need it. Especially in my final year, my teachers were so helpful, and you could tell that they wanted to prepare you for the real world as best they could, many even helping you find jobs.

9. Nobody knows you better than your roommates. I lived with the same 5 girls for 2 years, and I consider them some of my closest friends. Your roommates see you at your best and your worst. They know all your annoying habits and love you anyway. I was really lucky with mine, and I know there are people out there who didn't have the experience I did so I'm grateful!

10. What I want to do with my life. It wasn't until the last semester that I really figured out with I wanted to do. I knew Marketing, but I wasn't sure as to which part of Marketing. We learned a little bit about Social Media Marketing in one class, and then ended up getting a presentation from a company whose Social Media Manager came in and talked to us, and it was the most interesting and relevant presentation all year. I was hooked on her every word, and it just made sense for me.

What was something you learned in college? Was there anything you would have done differently?

The ABC Survey

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

I've had blogs before, but I thought this would be a good first post, just a way to get to know me :) Letssss do it!

A: Attached or Single? Very single. I've decided my next boyfriend will be my husband so…ya ;)

B: Best Friend? Sarah, Emily…. my mom.

C: Cake or pie? Cake > Pie. Either the rainbow chip cake, or ice cream cake from DQ. Either will do.

D: Day of choice? I like Saturdays and Sundays. Saturdays for doing fun things and Sundays for relaxing and wearing pyjamas all day :)

E: Essential item? Right now? As in my last semester of college ever? PINK clothes. Sweatpants, comfy sweaters. Acceptable to wear in school because they are kind of cute? Yep. (See photo above. Pink hoodies are life)

F: Favorite color? Pink. I get excited by anything that comes in hot pink. If shades were included in the question, it would be grey. I swear 95&% of my clothes are grey. Love wearing it. Classy, goes with everything. White and black accentuate how pale I am, grey is perfect.

G: Gummy bears or worms? Either. But sour gummy worms take the cake.
H: Hometown? Carleton Place, Ontario. (Let's just say Ottawa, Ontario)

I: Favorite indulgence? Burgers. Ever since I worked at A&W in high school I've been a burger girl.

J: January or July? July. For obvious reasons.

K: Kids? Negative.
L: Life isn’t complete without? Spending time with your family. And booty shaking.

M: Marriage date? August 2017. (I have no idea, there is a vital piece of my wedding missing atm aka. husband.)

N: Number of brothers/sisters? 2. A little brother and a little sister.

O: Oranges or Apples? Apples hundo p.

P: Phobias/Fears? Losing my parents. Doctors or anything medical. Bears and whales. The water.

Q: Quotes? Going with the 2 above. (Thank you Pinterest.) Love these, I think more people need to be reminded how good it feels to be generous, and I've always been most interested in a calm life. A lot of people want to travel, I've always been a homebody. The way I see it, I'd rather put money into my permanent home and where I spend most of my time then on travelling. Sometimes I need to remind myself that that's okay :)

R: Reasons to smile? The people in my life. Myself. Dogs. The gym. Sunny days. Hot chocolate and cuddles. Netflix. Comfy beds. Hugs. Markets. Going out for meals. Friends. College. I could go on and on but you get the idea.

S: Season of choice? Fall. Weather is perfect, scenery is beautiful. Outfits are on point. Those walks. Every year I get mad that it only lasts a week. Picture above is my grandparents on a hike this past September :)

T: Time you woke up today? 6am.

U: Unknown fact about me? I'm not very tall, 5'6", but always wished I was much shorter. Forever wanting to be "petite."

V: Vegetable? Potato!!!! I could eat a baked potato with sour cream and chives every day. Seriously.
W: Worst habit? Eating bad food is one that really annoys me. I have good intentions but no self control when it comes to eating :(

X: X-rays you've had? The only thing that comes to mind is my teeth at the dentist.

Y: Your favorite food? Chicken parmesan. Drooling now thinking about it.

Z: Zodiac sign? Gemini.

Well that took me way longer than expected, I blame Netflix haha.
Thanks for reading! :)
